Alternate Titles:

The film was originally released without the "Carry On" moniker. Peter Rogers' deal with Ango Amalgamated was at an end and he left the distributor to work with the presigious Rank brand. At the time of release it was believed the film could stand on its own without the "Carry On" banner but it was renamed and re-released to far greater success.

The film was known as "Carry On In the Legion" in the USA and Canada

In parts of Europe it was retitled "Carry On Beau Geste"

Bloopers & Gaffes:

When Sergeant Knocker goes to Cork Tip's house he is wearing his medals. However when he is taken to the Oasis El Nooki he isn't wearing them. When he returns to the base after running away from his captors he is wearing them.

When Angela Douglas receives the letter from Beau telling her that he has joined the Foreign Legion she takes the letter in her right hand and holds her napkin in her left as she reads it but when the camera cuts in for a close up she is holding the letter and napkin in the opposite hands.

When Beau and his valet are up to their necks in the sandpit, Beau says that they met Sergeant Knocker in the cafeteria, and a little while later he arrived at the fort looking a wreck. However, when Corporal Kratzki and the sergeant talk in the latter's room, the corporal says that the two arrived the previous day - not the little while before the sergeant arrives.

While Corktip is dancing, Zigzig kicks the sergeant. If you watch closely he reacts the same moment she kicks him, without the momentary delay to realise that he has been kicked.
