Alternative Titles:

Carry On Camping was renamed "I Want a Nudist Girlfriend" in South America and Spain

Bloopers & Gaffes:

When the girls are fighting in the room Hattie Jacques stops and enters. Watch her hands closely. The shot from the corridor shows Hattie grab the handle in her left hand and push the door with her right. As the camera angle changes to inside the room, Hattie is now holding and pushing the handle with her right and holding onto the door frame with her left!

When Terry Scott comes home from work his front door from the outside is clearly different to when the camera shot changes to the inside and he is shutting the door. From the outside the door is a dark heavy wood with a vertically rectangular window. From the inside the wood is lighter (almost like an internal door) and there is only a small square window.

Note the position of the car at the side of the road some way behind the characters when Betty Marsden and Terry Scott first see Charles Hawtrey. In the next scene Charles has appeared to move back up the road and is just passing the car!

In the scene whereMr Muggins changes cots with Mr Potter, he ends up sleeping in a plain blue sleeping bag. When the Potters leave him stranded, he is sleeping in a patterned brown bag.

On the girls' coach trip to the caravan site, Fanny can be seen sitting next to the window on the interior shots, but on the exterior ones Babs is sitting there.

If you watch Hattie Jacques during the exercise scene when Barbara Windsor's bra comes off you can see her turban disappear and reappear. The fishing line that pulls Babs' bra off is also clearly visible during the classic moment from this film.

When the Potters and Mr Muggins are getting ready for bed in the tent, Mrs Potter says "It'll be much better when I get my pants off" but look closely and you'll see her lips aren't moving.

As Terry Scott comes out of his tent you can hear Kenneth Williams shouting "Bend, bend, bend bend" etc the camera moves round to show the girls doing exercises. Looking at the girls Barbara Windsor is nowhere to be seen when she should be there.

The scene in which Hattie Jacques goes over to Kenneth Williams tent Hattie Jacques has her top button of her night dress done up but when she enters the tent it has been undone.

Charles Hawtrey is being pulled into the tent by Betty Marsden.....from the inside he is coming through the flap with the without the window but from the outside he is going in through the flap with the window.

When Sid is trying to talk to Babs though the wall in the shower block and he says to Bernie he can hear her - but what you can here is babs saying "sorry for bursting in on you last night, Sir" to Dr Soper from outside the hostel.

When Sid and Bernie are on their way to the camp shop, they are seen to stop well in front of some sort of signpost, but when they get out of the van, the lampost is quite clearly just behind them. Also, when they stop, the lady in the white trousers has already gone past them, but when they get out, she is seen to walk past them again.

Behind the Scenes

Carry On Camping was filmed, not in the summer as you might expect, but in the middle of winter. As a result, the trees which at the time were completely leaf-free, had to be sprayed and decorated to make it look as if it was the height of summer.  Similarly, the muddy ground was sprayed green to make it appear to be covered in fresh grass.
