Carry On Cabby was originally not a Carry On at all. The film's original name was "Call me a Cab" until shortly before release. At the request of the studio, to capitalise on the growing success of the Carry On films, it was renamed to join the Carry On canon. If you listen closely to the opening theme music you can hear the original title in the music.
